Hello. We're
WOWood
We are creating a new material using waste wood & waste organic binders
The Start
We have a lot of NON recoverable waste woods...
which end up in LANDFILL
MDF is one of the main OFFENDERS
Why is MDF so bad?
The most common binder for boards is urea-formaldehyde. Other binders may be used depending on the grade of board and its intended end-use. The exact constituents of an MDF board will vary from product to product. Formaldehyde is classified in the UK, and in the European Union as a carcinogen and it carries the hazard statement ‘suspected of causing cancer’.
MDF and particle boards are widely used in construction and furniture sectors.
The UK annual consumption of MDF alone is 650,000 Tonnes. it is estimated that about 60% of this composite is regarded as waste per year.

On our planet
Our (ultimate) goal to disrupt the particleboard supply chain and industry which currently uses synthetic binders which are not recyclable or regenerative by design.
Wowood is a 100% biodegrade material using wood waste and natural binders allowing them to be integrated back into nature’s material loop.
